Now, when Jeonghan had said that he had the perfect person in mind to solve Seungkwan’s terrible dating streak (in response to yet another tale of woe and disappointment shared over wine and cheese, as was their routine), his expectations had been set low from the start—especially when he was told that they would be meeting in an Itaewon club.

Firstly—Itaewon? Really? Any given venue would be bustling with tourists no matter the day or time, which is already going to drive the volume up right from the start and make it so hard to properly hear each other speak, and—secondly, a club? For their first meeting? Ignoring the futility of trying to hold a conversation inside one, why not a bar at the very least, just to start things off?

He couldn’t hold the idea completely against his mysterious potential paramour, though—for all he knew, the setting and time had all been orchestrated by Jeonghan, and they were both simply beholden to his whims. He certainly wouldn’t put it past him.

The first clue that things would be going against his expectations was when, on the way there, his nagging finally wore Jeonghan down enough for him to reveal that the place they were meeting at was Rabbithole. And unless they had changed their business operations in the past year or so since he last visited, Seungkwan could still remember that Friday nights were usually reserved for showcases and drag nights. Which then meant—

“Jeonghan,” he had hissed as the familiar logo came into view. “Is this guy performing tonight?”

His hyung had given him an annoyingly smug smile and a shrug, simply saying, “just wait and see, Seungkwannie.”

At least he had been able to give a point back in this person’s favour before they had actually met—Rabbithole definitely counted as a bar, and was a few steps up the ladder from the packed dance floor he had been picturing—and dreading—whilst following Jeonghan down the street.

But that was then, and this is now.

He’s extremely focused on ensuring that his fingers are still tightly closed around the glass of the espresso martini he’s holding in one hand, because there’s a very real possibility that if he dedicates any more brain-space to acknowledging what he’s looking at, his drink is going to create a huge mess when it shatters across the floor because he’s hardly taken a single sip of it and then he’ll be left even more flustered than he already is.

But wow. What a view it is.

A pink cowboy get-up should not be this seductive, but the low cuts of the bedazzled tank top are giving Seungkwan glimpses of a chest and arms that make his mouth run dry with possibilities. The strawberry-red contrasts nicely against his pale skin, and compliments the flushed patches of pink he can make out around his elbows when he spins. That by itself would be enough to be relatively cute in Seungkwan’s books, but his eyes can’t help but keep straying to the way his blush pink pants cling to his thighs and ass before flaring out over cream boots. It’s a very nice combination.

He wears the clothing well, and he dances well, too. Seungkwan does his best to objectively watch the way he’s following the timing of the bass, and then he gets distracted by the flex of a bare arm, the flash of a smile in response to the crowd’s merry encouragement, the way one strap slips down to dramatically deepen the gape of the v-neck cut before it’s returned to its rightful place. So, overall he just gets a little bit distracted while watching.

The song draws to a close and he strikes a final pose with his cowboy hat in one hand—as customised and shimmery under the lights as the rest of his outfit, leaving his hair mussed and chest lightly heaving. Seungkwan cheers enthusiastically with the rest of the small audience and ignores the knowing look shot his way by Jeonghan. His features are a little washed out under the lights, but Seungkwan can see a slight flush on his face peeking through the makeup. It almost matches the colour of the hearts on his pants. Seungkwan kind of wants to see how far it can be made to spread across his body, whether the shades of it would look any different when spurred on by his mouth. Seungkwan is maybe feeling a little insane.

Seungkwan maybe squeaks and busies himself with sipping from his neglected drink as soon as he looks like he’s glancing their way.

But then he hops off the low stage and disappears into the crowd for a moment, only to reappear—unnervingly making his way towards the side of the bar where Jeonghan and Seungkwan are hovering.

“Hyung, why is he coming here?” Seungkwan asks extremely calmly. The question earns him a schadenfreude-filled cackle.

“I told Sollie to join us once he was done!” Jeonghan chirps, going so far as to stick an arm up into the air and wave it frantically—as if his blonde hair would be easy to miss with the way it’s shining under the lights. “Better wipe the drool off your face soon~”

Seungkwan makes valuable use of his time to down the rest of his martini for courage, gently returning the glass to one side of the bar with a grateful nod to the bartender. He turns back around to return to his place by Jeonghan’s side and almost gives himself a fright—narrowly avoiding crashing into the dancer boy of his new daydreams.

He turns around to acknowledge Seungkwan’s appearance, beginning to introduce himself properly—and Seungkwan had completely missed any introductions given before his performance on account of being focused on not making a fool of himself, so he’s glad to get the second chance to firmly impress it into his memory. And instead of saying something normal like nice to meet you, Hansol, or I’m Seungkwan, great dancing out there, he finds himself blurting out—

“Pink really suits you, Hansol.”

It pulls an unguarded laugh and grin out of Hansol in response, though, so maybe things weren’t completely unsalvageable just yet.
